Prepare & Bring
- ◈White clothing: comfortable and non-revealing. Women must have a skirt or dress with something underneath (leggings or pants). Nothing fancy.
- ◈White head cover: white cloth for your head; soft flat hat if possible (flat, non-stretch fabric preferred).
- ◈New white flip flops: for indoor use only; these cannot be worn outside.
- ◈Balance of your fee in cash: unless already settled with us in advance.
- ◈A brand new notebook: for recording your information during the ceremony. Do not bring your Ocha/initiation book if you are an initiate.
- ◈Your Warriors (Ogun, Ochosi, and Osun) if you have them. do not bring Elegba/Elegua; you will receive Esu as part of the ceremony. If you don't know what this means, it does not apply.
- ◈Personal comforts: charger, cushion, indoor slippers, contact solution, glasses, a book, toiletries, etc. Plan for a full weekend.
- ◈Special dietary foods: all meals and refreshments are provided. Please notify us of any allergies in advance.
We will provide your Ajere (or wooden sopera / container) for Orunmila. You do not need to bring one.
Please Be Aware
No Guests: Do not bring anyone not involved in the ceremony. Check in with us first if you are considering it.
Clear Your Weekend: Make no outside plans. You will not know in advance how much time each phase requires.
For Women: Please notify us if you have your cycle on the day of the ceremony.
Arrive Promptly: No later than 2:30 PM on Friday. Ceremony begins at 3:00 PM sharp.
